Learn English by taking part in your host family’s daily life and gain independence by working autonomously within your host family and by taking over the responsibility for the children. Learn to make your own decisions and to take on responsibility for other people. These are qualities you need both during your studies and your job.
Also, as an au pair you have the possibility of financing a longer stay abroad without large expenses of your own and to get to know more than the city you live in. You can travel all over the country during your spare time or during your holidays. Often the host families like to take their au pairs with them to their holidays.
