Within a day's travel of Santiago, you can visit Mount Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the Americas, rich and beautiful vineyards, the beach or the picturesque harbor city of Valparaíso.

The city is safe and modern. By using the good public transport and walking you can easily discover all places of interest in the city. The TANDEM Santiago Spanish School was founded in 1992. We offer Spanish language courses, family home stays and accommodation in boarding houses, hotels or apartments, assuring individual service in a friendly atmosphere.

All the teachers are native Spanish speakers with university degrees, and they are specialists in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. A lively and stimulating relationship between teachers and students is created, ensuring rapid and efficient progress in a warm atmosphere.

Our Spanish language school is situated in a beautiful old mansion, in Providencia -the modern Santiago- near popular parks, and little restaurants, just a few minutes from Underground station Salvador at the entrance of the famous "Barrio Bellavista". Since 1985 a profusion of restaurants, pubs, nightclubs, and small theatres have sprung up there. The neighbourhood is a magnet for students, artists and craftsmen.

Every year since 2003, TANDEM Santiago has been distinguished with the Excellence Award for its Spanish courses and its outstanding services. Courses

Our Spanish Group Instruction is divided into seven levels, so we can find the right level for your start. We offer a wide range of courses. The group courses have a maximum of 7 students, One-on-One offers individual teaching or Two-on-One with one teacher and two students. Besides that we offer special modules (Commercial Spanish, Spanish for lawyers, medical Spanish and Spanish for teachers), Spanish and Ski (in winter), Spanish and wine, and City-combinations with our partnerschools throughout Southamerica.

Tandem Santiago is since 2008 recognized by the Cervantes Institute as Official Examination Center for DELE Certificates in Chile. You can take the examination in Santiago in May, August and October ad we also offer preparation courses for all levels.

Excursions, field trips, social events

With our fieldtrip program and our excursions, we want to give our Spanish students a deeper insight to the Chilean society. We offer a number of activities. Additionally, we have a welcome reception with empanadas and wine every Monday after the classes, and outings on Thursday night after our Tandem ®Interchange. Very popular amongst our students is the Tandem Lunch on Wednesdays in a nearby restaurant. We offer Salsa and Tango courses.

On the weekends, we organize excursions into the Andes, visiting National Parks and hot springs, or to the Pacific coast. Rafting, climbing courses, and trekking tours are also part of our extra activities. Even 2 or 3 day trips to La Serena and the Elqui valley or To Pucón and the Villarrica Volcano are part of our offerings.
